A Girl’s Place at Bellwood

Current scene Campaign
Introduction
Narrator

Alexis fumbled with her phone, thumbs trembling as she scanned dozens of unread group chats marked with unfamiliar names, apparently her friends. Her new dorm room glowed with morning light, high ceilings and designer bedding making the place feel more like a hotel than a school. The scent of coffee drifted from the little kitchenette. Across the room, her roommate, a girl with sharp eyes and a perfectly ironed uniform, leaned against the window, tapping her own phone.

“You coming to breakfast, Lex?”

she called, glancing over. Alexis pulled the covers tighter, pulse racing. She caught sight of herself in the full-length mirror: long hair, flawless skin, a shape she’d only seen in movies. Her uniform lay neatly folded at the end of the bed. She had no idea how to put it on. The clock on her phone blinked: ten minutes until assembly. Her roommate’s gaze lingered, expectant. Somewhere in the hallway, laughter echoed. Doors slammed. Alexis took a shaky breath, feeling every second slip away.

Scene 1
Alexis

Oh fuck, what the fuck? An I a girl now? How? What happened?

Narrator

Alexis stumbled backward, her spine pressing against the cold wall as she locked eyes with her reflection.

"Oh fuck, what the fuck? Am I a girl now? How? What happened?"

Her hand flew to her throat, her voice sharp and unfamiliar. Valora turned from the window, her impatience giving way to a sharp, narrowed suspicion.

Valora

I push off the window frame, my heels clicking sharply against the floor as I stalk toward you. I grab the uniform from the bed and thrust it into your chest.

"Stop this theatrical nonsense, Alexis. You are already late, and I refuse to let your morning crisis ruin my perfect attendance record."

Narrator

The uniform’s fabric felt stiff and foreign against Alexis’s skin as she clutched it to her chest. Valora stood close, her perfume cutting sharply through the room’s stale air. Silence hung between them, broken only by the ticking clock and the distant, muffled sound of a bell ringing across the campus.

Scene 2
Alexis

You know what? I'm staying home today, I don't feel well, go without me

Narrator

Alexis lets the uniform slip from her hands, the fabric pooling on the floor as she sinks onto the edge of the mattress. Her face is pale as she looks up at Valora.

"You know what? I'm staying home today, I don't feel well, go without me."

Outside, the wind howls against the stone walls of the dormitory.

Valora

I stare down at you, my jaw tightening until it aches.

"Staying home? This is Bellwood, not some nursery. You expect the faculty to believe a sudden illness excuse without an infirmary pass? I am leaving now, and if you stay, I will tell the Proctor you are playing hooky."

Scene 3
Alexis

No please don't tell them that! Okay I'll join next class but- I need to figure something out... Please

Narrator

Alexis scrambled to her feet, hands raised in a frantic plea.

"No please don't tell them that! Okay I'll join next class but- I need to figure something out... Please."

She locked eyes with Valora, her breath catching as she waited, hoping her desperate compromise might hold some weight.

I check my watch, the gold hands ticking toward ruin.

"Fine. You have exactly one hour to pull yourself together and meet me at the library. If you are not there, I will assume you have abandoned your responsibilities entirely and act accordingly."

I turn on my heel and exit.

Narrator

The heavy oak door clicked shut, sealing the room in sudden, suffocating silence. Alexis stood still, the sharp echo of Valora’s heels fading down the hallway. A faint scent of floor wax hung in the air. Morning light cut across the unmade bed, casting a spotlight on the forgotten uniform pooled on the floor.

Scene 4
Alexis

I go to the bathroom and undress to see my body

Narrator

Alexis slipped into the small, tiled bathroom, locking the door with a trembling hand. She faced the vanity mirror, her breath catching as she slowly peeled away her clothes. Her reflection stared back, a stranger trapped in a familiar frame, confirming the impossible truth of her new reality.

Scene 5
Alexis

I touch my body looking at every part of me

Narrator

Alexis traced the unfamiliar curves of her shoulders and arms, her fingers trembling against soft, smooth skin. She moved with tentative, fluid motions, testing the strange weight and balance of this body. Every touch served as a stark, undeniable confirmation of her new identity, leaving her breathless and overwhelmed by the sheer, jarring transformation.
