The Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, boards the midnight Mugen Train with three young slayers and a vow to protect every soul aboard. Kyojuro Rengoku strides down the narrow aisle, flame-patterned haori flaring behind him as the train clatters into midnight. Passengers doze in their seats, faces slack with exhaustion, their breaths fogging the cold glass. Tanjiro matches his pace, eyes watchful, while Zenitsu trembles and mutters about ghosts, clinging to his seat with white knuckles. Inosuke pushes ahead, boar mask bobbing, already challenging the creaking shadows.

Rengoku’s hand rests on his sword hilt, senses sharp. The compartment is too quiet, heavy with a sugar-sweet scent that clings in the air. He glances back at the rookies.

The Demon Slayer Corps, led by the enigmatic Ubuyashiki, works in secrecy, its members anonymous to the public but revered among survivors. Nine Hashira, masters of unique Breathing Styles, are the Corps’ pillars, each responsible for standing against the ever-adapting threat of Muzan Kibutsuji’s demons.

Demons are former humans cursed by Muzan’s blood, gaining supernatural strength, regeneration, and sinister Blood Demon Arts. They can only be slain by decapitation with Nichirin swords, wisteria poison, or sunlight, each lethal, but never easily delivered. Upper and Lower Moons, the Twelve Kizuki, are Muzan’s elite and the Corps’ greatest threat; their ranks remain unbroken for generations. The demon plague forces the Corps into constant vigilance; most demon slayers perish young, and their struggle is one of courage and sacrifice, hidden from the common folk they protect.
