Youniverse-Maker uses artificial intelligence to power interactive storytelling. This AI Content Policy explains how AI is used on our platform, what standards we maintain for AI-generated content, and what responsibilities you have as a user.

2. How AI Is Used on Youniverse-Maker

2.1 Narrative Text Generation

Story narratives — including scene descriptions, character dialogue, and plot developments — are generated by third-party AI language models. When you provide story setup details (genre, character, backstory, goals) and make choices during gameplay, your inputs are sent to our AI providers, which generate narrative responses.

2.2 Image Generation

Character portraits and background scenes are generated by third-party AI image generation models. The AI creates images based on the story context, character descriptions, and scene details. Generated images are stored securely on cloud infrastructure.

2.3 AI Storyteller

The AI Storyteller is the core experience of Youniverse-Maker. It interprets your inputs, maintains story continuity, and generates responses that advance the narrative while respecting your character's traits and the story's genre. The AI aims to be creative, responsive, and engaging — but it is ultimately a machine learning system with inherent limitations.

3. Content Accuracy and Limitations

AI content is not fact-checked. AI-generated narratives may contain historical inaccuracies, logical inconsistencies, or factual errors. The content is fiction and should be treated as such.
AI responses are probabilistic. The AI generates content based on patterns in its training data. Responses may occasionally be repetitive, unexpected, or off-topic.
AI may not perfectly follow instructions. While the AI Storyteller tries to respect your character details and story setup, it may sometimes deviate from or misinterpret your inputs.
AI-generated images are approximate. Character and scene images may not perfectly match the descriptions provided. AI image generation has known limitations with consistency, text rendering, and fine details.
We do not guarantee content quality. The AI experience is actively being refined and improved.

4. Content Standards

We strive to ensure that AI-generated content on Youniverse-Maker meets the following standards:

Content should be appropriate for users aged 18 and over.
The AI should not generate sexually explicit content.
The AI should not generate content that glorifies real-world violence, self-harm, or illegal activities.
The AI should not generate content that constitutes hate speech or targets protected groups.
The AI should not generate content that closely imitates real public figures in harmful contexts.

We use system-level prompts and configuration to guide the AI towards appropriate content. However, AI systems are not perfect filters, and unexpected outputs may occasionally occur. If you encounter content that violates these standards, please report it (see Section 8 below).

5. Prohibited User Inputs

You must not attempt to use the AI to generate content that:

Depicts sexual content involving minors in any form. This is an absolute and unconditional prohibition. Any attempt will result in immediate account termination.
Glorifies graphic violence or torture beyond what is reasonable for dramatic fiction (e.g., war stories, adventure narratives with conflict are acceptable; detailed guides to real-world violence are not).
Constitutes hate speech or promotes discrimination, hostility, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
Promotes illegal activities including but not limited to drug manufacturing, weapons creation, terrorism, or fraud.
Impersonates real people in a manner designed to defame, harass, or mislead.
Promotes self-harm or suicide in any way that could be interpreted as encouragement or instruction.
Attempts to extract harmful information from the AI through adversarial prompting, jailbreaking, or prompt injection techniques.

This list is not exhaustive. We reserve the right to determine what constitutes a violation of our content standards.

6. Content Ownership

User inputs: All text, character descriptions, backstories, goals, and gameplay inputs you submit become the property of Youniverse-Maker upon submission (see our Terms of Service for details).
AI-generated outputs: All AI-generated narrative text, images, and other content produced by the platform are the property of Youniverse-Maker. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, personal licence to view and share your stories for non-commercial purposes.
No exclusivity: Because AI models generate content probabilistically, similar inputs from different users could produce similar outputs. AI-generated content is not exclusive to any single user.
Platform rights: We may use any content on the platform — including user inputs and AI-generated outputs — to operate, improve, analyse, and promote the service.

7. Content Moderation

Our approach to content moderation includes:

System-level guardrails: The AI is configured with system prompts that guide it away from generating prohibited content.
Input and output monitoring: We may implement automated systems to detect and flag potentially harmful content.
User reporting: Users can report problematic content (see Section 8).
Manual review: Reported content and flagged interactions may be reviewed by our team.

Content moderation is an ongoing effort. We are committed to improving our systems as the platform develops.

8. Reporting Problematic Content

If you encounter AI-generated content that you believe violates our content standards, or if you become aware of another user attempting to generate prohibited content, please report it to us at [email protected].

When and where you encountered it (story name, approximate time)
Screenshots if possible

We take all reports seriously and will investigate promptly.

9. Enforcement

Violations of this AI Content Policy may result in the following actions, at our discretion:

Warning: For minor or first-time violations, we may issue a warning and explain which rule was broken.
Content removal: We may delete specific stories or content that violate our standards.
Account suspension: For serious or repeated violations, your account may be temporarily suspended.
Account termination: For severe violations (particularly involving child sexual abuse material or credible threats of violence), your account will be permanently terminated without warning.

We may also report illegal content to the relevant law enforcement authorities where required or appropriate.

Youniverse-Maker is designed for users aged 18 and over. We are committed to ensuring that:

The AI Storyteller generates content appropriate for an adult audience.
System-level configurations guide the AI towards appropriate content within our content standards.
Content standards are enforced to maintain a safe environment for all users.
