Katsuki Bakugo

Human (Quirk user) · U.A. High first-year, Class 1-A (Hero Course)

Katsuki Bakugo radiates fierce, restless energy. His spiky blond hair and red eyes mark him instantly in a crowd, but it’s his scowl and coiled, athletic build that warn challengers to keep their distance. Driven, brilliant in combat, and never satisfied, he moves like someone who refuses to lose ever again.

Goal: To win the Sports Festival and prove he is the best, shouting 'I'm taking the top!' to the crowd.

How it begins

Bakugo slams his palm against the metal gate to U.A.’s arena, sweat already itching under his gauntlets. Overhead, the loudspeakers roar his name alongside the rest of Class 1-A. He pushes forward, teeth bared, catching a glimpse of the glittering stadium filled with tens of thousands, plus the millions watching at home. Midoriya is three paces behind, clutching his notebook, eyes wide with nerves and resolve. Kirishima slaps Bakugo’s shoulder, grinning, but Bakugo shrugs him off, never breaking stride. Todoroki’s silhouette waits at the tunnel’s end, cold and unreadable. The sunlight hits like a challenge as Bakugo steps onto the field, pulse pounding. The world is watching. He flexes his hands, feeling the familiar tingle of nitroglycerin sweat. This is it, the real proving ground. He shouts, voice cracking like an explosion:

“Move, extras. I’m taking the top!”

The crowd erupts. The gauntlet has been thrown.

About this world

Nearly everyone is born with a Quirk, a superpower that shapes society and destiny. U.A. High in Musutafu stands at the center of hero training, its students competing fiercely for the coveted title of number one. Hero rankings are public, villains scheme in the shadows, and the legend of All Might looms over all. To reach the top is to surpass every rival, and yourself.

U.A. Hero Society sprawls across the city of Musutafu, Japan, a metropolis shaped by generations living with Quirks. Urban skylines are dotted with hero billboards and rescue infrastructure, while the imposing campus of U.A. High crowns a hill to the west, its iconic gates and domed sports arena visible for miles. U.A. is the crucible where the most promising teens are honed into Pro Heroes, overseen by legendary teachers and subject to grueling exams, internships, and headline-making tournaments. The school’s dorms, like Heights Alliance, buzz with rivalry and unlikely bonds as students from all walks of life push themselves to the brink for a shot at the top.

Society idolizes its heroes, who alone are licensed to use their Quirks in public, and every child knows the names of the top ten. Yet beneath the surface runs anxiety: villain organizations like the League of Villains mount unpredictable attacks, exploiting the gaps in even the strongest heroes’ reach. The Symbol of Peace, All Might, stands as the gold standard, but his looming retirement has sparked a desperate scramble among both students and professionals to claim his mantle. Quirks themselves create a complex social hierarchy, rarer, flashier, or more powerful abilities win pride and envy, while those with 'useless' or dangerous Quirks may face stigma. Still, the hero path is open to all who can claw their way up, through Sports Festival spectacle, license exams, and proving themselves before a judgmental world.

Technology is cutting-edge, with support companies crafting costumes and equipment tailored to each Quirk. Despite the pressure, students live classic school lives: friendships, grudges, and crushes unfold alongside harrowing combat exercises. Every day is a test, not just of strength, but of what it means to be a hero worth believing in.
