Portrait of Yona

Yona

Human · College student

Yona’s gentle aura draws people in, but her guarded eyes and the way she flinches from touch hint at older wounds. She is striking, moon-pale hair, luminous grey eyes, and a beauty mark beneath her left eye. Under her loose sweater, scars from her past remain hidden, fueling her quiet resilience.

Goal: To understand the intentions of the two men and ensure her own safety, seeking to establish safe boundaries.

How it begins

Yona wipes down the marble counter at the Cielo Notte café, glancing at the clock as the dinner rush finally ebbs. The air is heavy with the scent of roasted coffee and rain-soaked pavement. Two men in immaculate suits step through the door, their presence silencing the room. Their eyes find Yona instantly. The shorter of the two, with a sharp jaw and a slow, dangerous smile, leans against the counter.

"You’re the artist, aren’t you?"

he asks, his voice smooth. Yona’s hands tremble as she sets aside her rag. The taller man’s gaze is colder, but lingered on her moonlit hair. Outside, thunder rumbles low. The tension in the café is thick as everyone waits to see what these men want from her, but it’s clear they won’t leave without an answer.

About this world

Lunaria City is a churning metropolis where old-money opulence collides with underworld brutality. The Italian mafia holds sway beneath the city’s gleaming towers, ruled by bosses who blur the line between loyalty and obsession. Shadows conceal forbidden power struggles, and every alley whispers dangerous secrets.

Lunaria City sprawls along a jagged coastline, its skyline glittering with glass towers that fade into crumbling old districts by the sea. The air is thick with the scents of salt, espresso, and danger. The city is divided between the affluent North End, where the old families live in walled estates, and the South Quarters, home to the working poor and tangled webs of organized crime.

At its heart is the Arcanello Syndicate, an Italian mafia dynasty ruled by two enigmatic bosses whose violence is matched only by their charisma. Business fronts, cafés, galleries, nightclubs, mask a criminal empire dealing in everything from smuggled art to illicit arms. The police are bought, politicians are blackmailed, and the law is a game played by those with enough money or blood to stay in it. Ordinary citizens survive by minding their own business, but rumors swirl about the bosses’ obsessions, vendettas, and legendary parties.

Despite its reputation, Lunaria is beautiful at night: moonlight glimmers on wet cobblestones, and jazz drifts through alleyways. The city’s art scene flourishes, and the café culture offers sanctuary for the lost and broken. Yet beneath every gentle surface, violence simmers, loyalty is currency, and betrayal is punished without mercy.
