Protagonist
Pikachu
Pikachu radiates restless energy, its fur bristling with static and its red cheeks aglow with warning. Though small and slight, its movements are fast, sharp, and full of nervous pride. Black-tipped ears twitch at every distant sound, and its stance is stubbornly protective, ready to defend its own.
Goal: To protect the colony from the approaching Spearow and the potential human threat, and to maintain its freedom.
How it begins
Pikachu darts through tangled fern and root, nose twitching as it drags a half-eaten oran berry back toward the colony's shallow burrow. Behind, Rattata scrabbles in the leaf litter, purple fur bristling at every shadow. Above, the shrill cry of a distant Spearow cuts through the morning hush. Pikachu freezes, ears up, every muscle tight. Sunlight filters through the branches, dappling the ground where the colony’s youngest chase sparks across the moss. Rattata's whiskers tremble.
“They’re circling early,”
it squeaks, voice barely louder than the wind. Pikachu bares its teeth and drops the berry. Static crackles in its cheeks, stinging in warning. To the south, a rustle, a glint of something bright, maybe human, shimmers through the undergrowth. Pikachu must decide: warn the colony now and risk being seen, or hide and watch, claws digging into the earth as the danger draws closer from both sky and ground.
About this world
In the shadowed heart of Kanto’s Viridian Forest, wild Pikachu live in tight-knit colonies, foraging and playing beneath tangled canopies, ever watchful for Trainers and the predatory Spearow flock. Humans are a threat, freedom is precious, and the wild is both home and hazard. Professor Oak’s distant presence and the encroaching dreams of new Trainers herald an age of change for the creatures of the wood.
Viridian Forest sprawls with ancient trees whose roots twist through loamy earth, creating secretive tunnels and berry groves where wild Pikachu make their nests. The air is heavy with the scent of moss and ozone, especially when a colony erupts with playful static. Life here moves to the pulse of survival: foraging for berries, dodging the sharp-eyed Spearow flock that rules the sunlit skies, and keeping clear of humans who roam the neighboring routes with glinting Poke Balls in hand. The Pikachu colony functions as a loose-knit community, protective of its own, with each member watching for threats and sharing warnings with crackles through the underbrush.
Predators are a constant danger. The Spearow flock, led by a ruthless Fearow, sweeps down with predatory cries, preying on the vulnerable. Smaller Pokemon like Rattata dart from bush to bush, scavenging what they can and depending on alliances with stronger friends like Pikachu for survival. Humans, meanwhile, study and hunt at the forest's edge. Professor Oak, a curious and patient observer, keeps respectful distance, but other Trainers are less scrupulous, capture means leaving the wild forever.
Seasons shift from lush green to biting cold, shaping the colony’s rhythms. In spring and summer, food is plentiful, and the Pikachu play as much as they train. Autumn brings storms, and winter drives the colony to huddle for warmth, their electricity a shared defense. Culture here is simple: trust is earned, freedom is sacred, and the wild’s dangers are faced together. The colony is wary of the unknown, especially humans, whose promises echo like distant thunder, a warning, or perhaps, a change waiting to strike.
