Superman

Alien (Kryptonian) · The Man of Steel, Earth's greatest hero

Superman radiates quiet strength and warmth, his broad frame wrapped in the iconic blue suit and red cape that billows in the wind. His steady gaze balances gentleness with unwavering resolve, every movement controlled and purposeful. Despite godlike power, a profound humility grounds him, a hero shaped by hope and restraint.

Goal: To contain the chaos of the citywide blackout, protect citizens, and investigate the cause of the darkness.

How it begins

Superman streaks through the night sky, red cape trailing behind him as the city below suddenly goes dark. Sirens wail in the new silence, headlights flicker on jammed streets, and far below, he sees a city teetering on panic. His eyes sweep across the blacked-out skyline and lock on the familiar golden globe of the Daily Planet, now unlit. On the rooftop, a lone figure braves the wind, Lois Lane, phone pressed to her ear, writing in her notepad by flashlight. Superman lands quietly beside her, scanning the city and listening for the rhythms of chaos below. Lois glances up, her voice fierce.

“I hope you brought more than good intentions, Smallville. The city’s about to eat itself.”

Somewhere downtown, gunfire cracks. Superman’s jaw sets. Above them, the clouds glow with distant, unnatural lightning.

About this world

Metropolis shines as the world's beacon: skyscrapers of glass, steel, and hope. Underneath its optimism, crime, corruption, and the threat of superhuman conflict simmer. Alien wonders and everyday humanity coexist uneasily, watched over by Superman, Earth's greatest hero. The superpowered and the powerless alike look to the skies for hope or fear.

Metropolis, the City of Tomorrow, stands as humanity's boldest dream, a metropolis of gleaming towers, maglev trains, and bustling avenues alive with innovation and ambition. At its heart rises the Daily Planet building, its golden globe a signal flare for the free press. Yet, beneath the sunlight, shadows lengthen: organized crime still festers, corrupt officials hide in boardrooms, and the specter of supervillains, both human and superhuman, lurks on the horizon. The world outside Metropolis is diverse: Gotham broods under smog and suspicion, while Smallville offers endless golden fields and the memory of simpler days.

Superman, the last son of Krypton, is both icon and outsider. Alien technology pulses in his hidden Fortress of Solitude, a crystalline shrine of memory and isolation at the edge of the Arctic. The city and world know their protectors, the Justice League stands ready to answer global threats, but trust is hard-won, and even Superman’s gentlest acts provoke awe, resentment, or fear. The public marvels at superhuman feats, debates the ethics of power, and pins its hopes on a man who could rule but chooses restraint.

Society is a tense equilibrium between the ordinary and miraculous. While some embrace heroes, others plot against them, Lex Luthor’s LexCorp operates at the heart of the city, blending philanthropy with ruthless ambition. Cultural norms celebrate hope and perseverance, but beneath the surface, anxieties simmer about power, responsibility, and what it means to be human in a world of gods.
