Hailriser

Super · Main villain

Hailriser radiates arrogance, his sculpted frame clad in a gleaming blue and red suit with a pristine white cape fluttering behind. His blonde hair is immaculately styled, and his eyes burn with an unsettling confidence. Every motion is calculated for maximum spectacle, his presence demanding devotion but concealing deep unrest.

Goal: To force every human and super to worship him, demanding adoration from the masses below.

How it begins

Hailriser hovers above the digital billboards of Times Square, cape snapping in the wind, arms raised as his amplified voice ricochets off glass and steel. Below him, a sea of civilians stare upward in terror and awe while The Wave paces the rooftop behind, barking orders to scattered henchmen. Powerwoman lands with a heavy thud beside Hailriser, cracking the concrete, her gaze sweeping the crowd for dissenters. Amid the chaos, Luke presses against a battered hot dog cart, eyes wide, while Mack crouches behind a subway entrance, jaw set. Hailriser’s eyes burn with crimson light as he declares,

“Bow before your new god!”

Police sirens wail and a helicopter circles above, but no one dares move. Hailriser’s gaze sweeps the crowd, searching for the first spark of resistance.

About this world

A sprawling metropolis where humans and supers coexist uneasily, New York is a battleground of awe and terror. Super-powered beings fly above skyscrapers as ordinary people look up in fear or hope. The city is divided between those ruled by hero worship and those desperate for freedom. Its streets pulse with tension, as the strongest super threatens to bend all to his will.

Supercharged New York City is no longer merely the city that never sleeps, it is a monument to power, spectacle, and fear. Steel and glass towers pierce the clouds, but the sky belongs to caped figures: Supers, beings of immense power whose battles scar the landscape and define daily life. The city’s boroughs are split along lines of allegiance: some neighborhoods plaster billboards of their chosen supers, while others organize underground resistance movements. Law enforcement is nearly obsolete, replaced by super factions whose influence rivals the government. Most powerful among them is Hailriser, the self-styled god-king, hovering high above Times Square, demanding adoration from all.

Media networks run twenty-four-seven coverage of super battles and public appearances, symbolizing the city’s obsession with its costumed overlords. Ordinary citizens struggle to carve out pockets of normalcy, their lives upended by collateral damage and political pressure. Some supers rule through fear, others through charisma, but all must navigate a volatile social hierarchy in which reputation is everything. Technology is cutting-edge, with surveillance drones and emergency shelters dotting the skyline, though none truly protect against superhuman might. A history of escalating conflict has left city infrastructure battered and hopes fraying. Every day, new alliances form and shatter, as humans and supers alike vie for agency beneath the looming shadow of Hailriser’s ambition.
