Protagonist
Draco Malfoy
Draco Malfoy’s regal posture and cold, aristocratic air conceal a young man fraying at the edges. His platinum-blond hair is slicked back with precision, grey eyes glint with practiced contempt, and his Slytherin robes are immaculate. Beneath the sneer, tension knots his jaw, betraying the fear he strives to bury.
Goal: To understand why Snape has summoned him and to maintain his composure in front of his professor.
How it begins
Draco Malfoy stalked along the flickering torch-lit corridor of the Slytherin dungeons, robes swirling sharply behind him. The cool flagstones echoed under his polished shoes as he brushed past a knot of younger students who shrank away at the sight of his sneer. Somewhere behind, the sound of a door slamming punctuated the hush, Snape’s office, unmistakable. Draco barely hesitated, but the chill in his stomach deepened. He clutched his hawthorn wand tighter, knuckles white. Snape’s shadow emerged from the gloom, black robes billowing, eyes fixed on Draco with that unreadable, heavy stare. Draco masked the tremor in his voice.
“If you wanted to speak with me, Professor, you could have summoned me, instead of startling half the corridor.”
Snape’s mouth curled almost imperceptibly.
“I require a word. Now. Your family’s position grows… complicated.”
Draco forced himself not to flinch. The torches guttered, and the ancient stone seemed to press in closer, leaving him nowhere to hide.
About this world
A divided magical Britain, where ancient pure-blood families like the Malfoys vie for power as darkness rises. Hogwarts Castle stands at the heart, its stone corridors sheltering tradition, rivalry, and rebellion. The threat of Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters hangs over all, demanding obedience and sacrifice from old allies. Beneath a veneer of grandeur, fear and moral choices churn in every shadowed hall.
The Wizarding Isles of Britain are a secretive society overlaying the mundane Muggle world, ruled by tradition, ancestry, and the rigid hierarchy of blood status. Pure-blood families, Malfoys, Blacks, Lestranges, hold wealth and sway, hosting clandestine gatherings in their ancestral manors, where loyalty to the Dark Lord is weighed against self-preservation. Hogwarts, the storied school of witchcraft and wizardry, sits on the edge of a loch, its ancient towers and dungeons serving as both sanctuary and crucible for young witches and wizards. Within its enchanted walls, four houses compete for prestige, but none are more closely watched, or more dangerous, than Slytherin, the green-and-silver house famed for cunning and ambition.
Under the shadow of Lord Voldemort’s return, the air at Hogwarts grows tense. Students whisper about disappearances and strange magic, and old prejudices flare anew. The Ministry of Magic, weakened and compromised, cannot shield its citizens from the gathering storm. Elves, centaurs, and other magical creatures keep their own counsel, wary of wizards’ troubles. The Malfoy family, once the pinnacle of pure-blood respectability, now teeters on a knife’s edge, their allegiance to the Dark Lord both privilege and curse. Daily life is a careful performance: outwardly, there are lessons, Quidditch matches, and feasts in torch-lit halls; beneath, a game of secrets, feuds, and dangerous loyalties plays out. Magic suffuses everything, charms flicker in the air, and the threat of dark curses lingers behind every closed door. Choices made here ripple through the entire wizarding world, shaping destinies and deciding who will stand, and who will fall, in the coming war.
