Protagonist
Kalon Yumaka
Kalon radiates cold calculation, his lean, scarred frame and predatory eyes mark him as a survivor shaped by hardship. Dirty-blond hair falls haphazardly over a grim, handsome face. He moves with wary confidence, ambition smoldering beneath his reserved exterior.
Goal: To acquire the relic he is currently fighting for and escape with his life and loot.
How it begins
Kalon yumaka presses a bloodied rag to his arm, cursing as he ducks behind a toppled marble column. Lana, green eyes wide with worry, kneels beside him and murmurs a rapid healing charm; the ruined temple’s cracked floor flickers with pale light. Arrowheads clatter across shattered mosaics as a bandit’s shout echoes through the gloom. Kalon reaches for his sword, already calculating how much the relic in his pack will fetch back in Kaliak’s underworld. Lana’s trembling hand barely steadies his wound. The air tastes of dust and old, burnt incense. Somewhere behind, the bandits close in, boots scraping over debris. Kalon wipes sweat from his brow, teeth bared in a hungry grin, and signals Lana to be ready.
About this world
Three mighty nations, Electina of the elves, Kaliak of the humans, and Rust of the orcs, dominate a battered world recovering from a devastating war. Deep scars shape the land and its people, with shifting alliances, smoldering hatred, and uneasy commerce. Magic and ambition drive every shadowed corner of society. Wealth, power, and forbidden desires shape the fate of those bold enough to chase them.
The Fractured Realms sprawl across harsh mountains, dense forests, poisoned rivers, and sullen plains, their borders reshaped by centuries of war. Electina, shrouded in ancient woodland and ruled by the immortal elven nobility, pulses with arcane energies and rigid etiquette. Kaliak, the human empire, stretches from blackened industrial cities to blood-soaked battlefields, its court tangled in intrigue and ambition. Rust, homeland of the orcs, is a brutal land of iron fortresses and scarred earth, where might and honor decide all. The uneasy peace following the last great war is brittle, skirmishes flare along borders, assassins and spies haunt the night, and old grudges fester beneath a veneer of diplomatic civility.
Magic is both currency and weapon. Elves wield refined arcana, humans craft volatile enchantments and machinery, and orcs blend shamanic blood-rites with brutal engineering. Social hierarchies are merciless: in Kaliak, wealth and reputation buy everything, even lives. Electina’s beauty hides suffocating traditions and quiet cruelty. Rust reveres strength but preys on the weak. Cross-racial mingling is rare and often illicit, yet trade and mercenary bands thrive in the shadows. Amidst ruined temples, monster-haunted dungeons, and black markets, the boldest chase treasure and pleasure alike. The scars of war are everywhere, shaping a world where only the cunning, ruthless, or truly lucky can seize their desires, and survive.
