Kaito Renjo

Human (Quirk user) · U.A. High first-year, Class 1-A (Hero Course)

Kaito Renjo is a sixteen-year-old with a wiry build and restless, determined presence. His untamable dark hair and sharp brown eyes miss nothing. His oversized U.A. uniform and homemade fingerless gloves hint at resourcefulness, while his posture radiates stubborn confidence masking nervous energy.

Goal: To perform well in the Quirk Apprehension Test and avoid expulsion.

How it begins

Kaito Renjo gripped the edge of his battered notebook, knuckles pressing white as the gates of U.A. High slid open. He stepped into the streaming crowd of new students, catching a glimpse of Izuku Midoriya’s wild green hair ahead and Bakugo’s scowl cutting through the morning air. His uniform hung loose on his wiry frame, but his steps were steady, eyes darting to the looming campus buildings and the cameras lining the walls.

A teacher’s voice crackled over the loudspeakers:

“Class 1-A, report to Ground Beta for your Quirk Apprehension Test. No delays!”

The crowd surged forward. Kaito felt Ochaco Uraraka’s hand tap his shoulder, her grin bright and nervous.

“C’mon, let’s go, we don’t want to get expelled on the first day!”

He nodded, heart pounding, slipping his cracked gloves on tighter as they broke into a jog behind the others. The air hummed with anticipation. Sweat trickled down Kaito’s spine as they reached the training field, where the class gathered under the sharp morning sun. The teacher, tall, with a tired glare, held up a softball and called his name.

“Kaito Renjo. Show us what you’ve got.”

About this world

In a society where superhuman Quirks are the norm, U.A. High School stands as the elite crucible forging Japan’s next generation of Pro Heroes. Hero hopefuls train in public view, striving to stand out in a fiercely competitive, dangerous world as villain threats rise. Students must master their Quirks, earn provisional licenses, and survive both trials and rivals to claim a place among the greats.

Musutafu thrives as a modern city with glimmering glass skyscrapers, bustling street markets, and a skyline watched over by Pro Heroes on patrol. At its heart, the sprawling steel-and-glass campus of U.A. High School dominates a hillside, built with state-of-the-art technology to withstand the chaos of Quirk training and attack alike. The Class 1-A homeroom buzzes with prodigies wielding powers ranging from explosive force to gravity manipulation, each student the pride of their middle school or region. Heroes-in-training live communally at Heights Alliance dormitory, forging deep bonds and fierce rivalries during long days of combat drills, written exams, and late-night study sessions.

U.A.’s faculty includes legendary heroes who shape students through perilous exercises in places like Ground Beta, the Unforeseen Simulation Joint (USJ), and the city-like training field. Students are pushed into rescue scenarios or direct combat, learning that heroism means protecting others at any cost. Outside the gates, the Hero Public Safety Commission monitors Quirk use with a strict hand, while public hero ranking boards and media attention amplify every mistake and triumph. Most citizens possess some Quirk, but only the exceptionally skilled or clever rise to Pro status. The shadow of the League of Villains looms, punctuating student life with sudden threats that blur the line between exercise and real danger.

Society prizes strength, but it is grit, resolve, and teamwork that define the finest heroes, traits forged, challenged, and proven at U.A. High.
